Keystone Hotel & Spa Lyon

Hotel 4-star in Lyon

Presentation

Keystone Hotel & Spa Lyon opens its doors at 15 B rue Casimir Périer, in the Confluence district where old industrial halls have given way to glass buildings and café terraces. It is often reached by tram, with Saint-Blandine station a three-minute walk away, and the first thing that strikes you is this contemporary façade, with none of the Lyon of the traboules found a few stops away.

From the moment you enter, the lobby leans into light wood and curved lines. At reception, the staff take the time to exchange a few words, not just hand over a key. One guest says they were made a takeaway coffee while they waited for their taxi, the kind of detail that does not happen by chance.

The rooms, 99 in total, including twelve with their own terrace, focus on light and furniture designed piece by piece. The windows are well soundproofed, which matters on a busy avenue. On the desk, there is space to set down a laptop. In the bathroom, Sothys products replace generic bottles.

In the morning, the buffet (at an extra charge) offers pastries and local products, enough to start the day unhurried before heading off to the Presqu'île.

On the ground floor, the bar stretches out lengthwise, ideal for an afternoon coffee break or a drink before going out for dinner. For meals, Brasserie Midi Minuit, directly accessible from the hotel, takes over with a simple menu, convenient before catching a train at Perrache, a few hundred metres away.

Going up to the spa floors, the jacuzzi and hammam are open every day. Access works on a first-come, first-served basis rather than by reserved slots: it is best to go down early in the morning or late in the afternoon to enjoy the jacuzzi with fewer people around. Massages, by reservation, are often mentioned in guest feedback. The gym, meanwhile, remains open 24 hours a day, equipped with rowing machines, treadmills and dumbbell benches, handy for a quick workout before breakfast.

As for parking, the hotel does not have private on-site parking. A badge gives access to a nearby car park, costing around fifteen euros per day: something to plan for before arriving rather than discovering on site, especially for those coming by car from the motorway.

Outside, the Rhône riverbanks begin just a few steps away, and a river shuttle lets you reach Vieux Lyon in a few minutes from the nearby pier. The Musée des Confluences, with its glass-and-steel architecture, can be explored on foot by following the water.

Late in the afternoon, the terrace fills up slowly for an aperitif. Ask for a table facing the garden rather than the street: that is where you hear the least traffic, and where you can best watch the sky change colour above the Rhône.

Summary of a few positive reviews read on the Web

  • The room was large, with a very comfortable bed and well soundproofed windows despite the street below.
  • The receptionist made us a takeaway coffee while we waited for our taxi. A small gesture, but it matters.
  • Very professional massage at the spa, attentive staff. The shower stall in the room is a bit small by comparison.
  • Three minutes on foot from the Saint-Blandine tram stop, convenient for reaching the city centre without a car.
  • No private parking on site, but a badge gives access to a nearby car park for around 15 euros a day. Useful to know before arriving.
  • Varied breakfast, fresh pastries and good coffee. Discreet and efficient service in the morning.
